ABOUT US
Fitness for All Living with Type 1
João:
A Type 1 Diabetic coach for OneTribe Diabetes, specialising in helping people with Type One build strong bodies, gain better blood sugar control and live freely with an illness by harnessing systematic and holistic tools that yield a better quality of life.
My coaching focuses on practical strategies that work in the real world, not just sound good in theory.
I am not Type 1 myself but my fiance is, our fellow OneTribe Diabetes coach and founder, living alongside T1D every day has given me a unique perspective. I see the emotional weight and pressure of the hundreds of decisions people with diabetes make daily, and my role is often to be the calm, logical voice that brings clarity when things feel overwhelming.
I remove the guesswork, refine the systems and improve insulin sensitivity through training and nutrition.
My coaching blends technical understanding, real-life experience, and years of working closely with the Type 1 community.
The goal is simple: help people with Type 1 Diabetes build a life where they lead and diabetes follows
we build strength together
Talia:
I myself am a type one diabetic of 15 years, with a background in data analysis and science, much of the techniques I have developed over the 10 years I have been coaching, are a combination of:
Living and breathing diabetes every single day, as a woman, with a hormonal cycle, who lifts heavy and understands that the textbook ideologies handed out at diagnosis, do not provide the intricate and refined approach that is needed to support the body of a type one woman and attain exceptional diabetes management, which is often deemed as unachievable within healthcare, yet proven wrong time and time again, by every client we work with.
My eye for data has helped me develop systems that transformed my own life, and the life of over 1000 other diabetics around the world, accounting for the things outside of carb counting, limited algorithms and “it must be something you are doing wrong then.”
I understand you, because I am the same as you. I know how exceptionally difficult life with diabetes is, but equally, I understand what an extraordinarily beautiful and fulfilling life you can have, when you learn to take back control, regain autonomy and say no to the bare minimum healthcare standards.
